Bugloos Feedback — Privacy Policy
Bugloos Feedback is a Chrome extension published by Bugloos (“we”). It lets clients of Bugloos leave feedback on their own website and see what happened to it. This policy explains what the extension collects, why, and what we do with it.
When anything is collected
Only when you open the extension's side panel yourself and submit a report. There is no background capture, no tracking while you browse, and nothing is sent until you press Submit. The extension works only on the website addresses registered to your product, and asks your permission before it can access them.
What is collected
- Your account details: your name and email address, and the entry code you sign in with.
- Your feedback: the title and details you write, the type and severity you choose.
- A screenshot of the visible part of the page — exactly the image shown to you before you submit.
- The page: its full address (including query and hash), title and referrer.
- The element you picked, if any: its tag, classes, test id, position on the page, and the first 80 characters of its visible text. That text is real page content and may include data shown on the page.
- Technical details: timestamp and timezone, viewport and screen size, pixel ratio, browser and operating system name and version, language, dark/light and reduced-motion preferences, and the extension's version.
What is never collected
- Full page HTML or copies of the page structure.
- Cookies, local storage or session storage of the website.
- Passwords, or anything you type into the website's forms.
- Network requests or responses.
- Any tab other than the one you opened the panel on.
Why we use it
Only to receive, understand and act on your feedback about the product Bugloos builds for you, and to show you the status of reports you have sent. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to that, and we do not sell it.
Where it is stored
On servers Bugloos runs itself. The database and the screenshot storage are self-hosted; no third-party cloud or hosting provider processes your data.
Who can see it
You, in the extension, for the reports you have sent. Bugloos team members who have been given access to the feedback dashboard. Screenshots are never public: they are opened through links that expire after a few minutes. We do not share your data with anyone else unless required by law.
What is stored in your browser
Your sign-in session and a short-lived list of the product addresses your account can report on, kept in the extension's local storage. Removing the extension deletes them.
How long we keep it
When you remove a report from your list, it is marked as withdrawn; the team keeps a copy so work already done on it is not lost.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. Your entry code is never stored as-is, only as a one-way hash. Each request is checked against your verified sign-in, and screenshots can only be uploaded by a signed-in user of the product they belong to.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or remove a report until the team has recorded it. To access, correct or delete your data, or your account, contact your Bugloos project contact.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you through your Bugloos contact.
